Building Resources Today for Tomorrow
The Arthur Lockhart Resource Institute is a non for profit human/social service organization committed to enriching, empowering and encouraging positive growth of the residents in the Austin/West Garfield Community in Chicago, Illinois.
The Institute was started by its Founder, the late Dr. Arthur Lockhart, the former Pastor of Healing Temple Church of God in Christ. As a new pastor in the community, he saw the lack of resources within the community necessary to improve their quality of life. Determined to make a difference, he started many programs to promote education, health and economic growth in the Austin Community. His focus was on children, our future and seniors our promise. He wanted to make sure that seniors who had given much to society would be able to live quality lives.
For more than 35 years, the Arthur Lockhart Resource Institute has been a beacon of light to the residents of the Austin/West Garfield Community. The Institute continues to dedicate its services and programs to the advancement and improvement of the residents on the Westside of Chicago. We
have created partnerships with educational institutions, civic organizations, churches and government agencies to deliver quality programs for children, low income families, seniors and veterans. Our goal '
is to enhance the education, psychological, social experiences and health of the Austin/West Garfield Community.
Today, the Arthur Lockhart Resource Institute has educated more than 1700 children through its Head Start Program, fed more than 25,000 families through its food pantry program, served more than 400 seniors through its Senior Care Program and engaged more than 300 veterans through its Standup for Veteran's Program. Our Motto: "We Save Lives."
“Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do”
